RedFox is an indie-folk band based in Montreal, Quebec and we’re currently looking for an animator to create a music video for our next single.

We are looking for someone passionate and creative. The project could suit anyone for whom it would be a useful credit and/or experience, plus recent graduates. The job will be paid (inquire about details).

Successful candidates will need to be fluent with the necessary software and able to create animation with genuine talent and flair; they’ll also need access to the software and kit required to deliver the job.

This video is somewhat melancholy, with summer vibes. We’ve already developed an outline for the narrative that we’d like to have animated, so we’re just looking for the artwork to match! The video will be promoted on all of our social media pages as well as YouTube, and be used as a marketing tool for our band until the next release.

If you are interested in the project, please reach out and we’ll send you a demo of the single. Our music is available on all social media platforms if you’d like to hear more and see if you’d be a good fit.

Motion Graphics/ 2D animation opportunity

‘Bridging the Gap’ is a short BBC documentary with insets of animation. The story follows a young artist with schizophrenia as she grapples with the boundaries between her internal delusions and her everyday life. The job will be to bring her hauntingly expressive artwork to life. You will be working with 5 pieces of artwork and 2 pieces of handwritten text from her journals. The animation will be simple movement of lines and cut outs. (approximately 30 seconds in total).

‘One day I am going to break that wall and everyone can see for themselves the monsters I’m trying so desperately to hide’

The film is a deeply intimate and compelling piece chronicling her life inside psychiatric hospital, as well as a love letter to the friendships that help ground her. This would suit someone with a sensitivity and passion for the subject, as well as talent in working with existing art-work.

Likely suits recent graduates or professionals looking to extend their portfolio. The film is a BBC commission and broadcast, and you will be credited accordingly. Please be aware the budget is low.

Please get in touch with showreels and I can offer more information as well as negotiate precise budget.

About the Company

Roll7

At Roll7, we create exciting and critically acclaimed video games - including the BAFTA-winning OlliOlli franchise. Innovation, freedom, and a real sense of fun are at the heart of everything we do, from creating award-winning original IPs to the everyday business of running our unique distributed workplace set-up.

Being a distributed studio – the majority of our employees work from home nineteen days out of twenty - allows us to offer a high degree of freedom and autonomy to our motivated and creative staff. Everyone at Roll7 can work in a way that allows them to balance impressive workplace achievements with their own responsibilities at home.

Monthly meetups in our London office, combined with a robust online communication system, mean that we still retain all the positives of a welcoming and friendly office environment - without the downsides of a long and expensive commute. After all, most of us would rather be at home with our families and pets (or our game consoles) than crammed onto an overcrowded commuter train or stuck in traffic.

Please note: due to the current situation with COVID-19, these in-person meet ups are currently on hold until at least September 2020. We are replicating these meets online - once it is safe to do so, we will resume them in person.

We love to give every employee a chance to play and contribute to the games we make, we love giving people the freedom to pursue their own path to success, and we hate crunch.

Check out our website for a complete list of staff benefits and more details on our company culture.

At Roll7, our team is at the heart of everything we do, and it matters to us that everyone feels comfortable and valued at work. We are an equal opportunities employer, and we have a keen commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all of our employees are accepted and valued as part of the team. Remote work

Roll7 is a remote studio, and this role requires the applicant to undertake the vast majority of their work at home (nine out of ten days). Appropriate equipment, dev kits and software licenses will be supplied as required. One day a fortnight we work from central London as a team, therefore applicants MUST be based in the UK.
