Job Description

The Art Director will be central in shaping our growing Art Team at d3t.  It is a hands-on role overseeing multiple projects, inspiring the artists with your vision and passion for creating the most beautiful game artwork possible. We work with very high-profile clients on amazing game titles and so the quality of the artwork is critical to satisfying and retaining their loyalty.

 Duties

  • Provide clear, concise visual direction and guidance across all Art development at d3t and review all digital assets, providing feedback in a timely manner.
  • Share your passion for excellence, create inspiring artwork/style guides to clearly promote the visual quality standards we are aiming for and ensure that everyone is working in creative cohesion to meet these standards.
  • Drive the vision forward by working alongside the art team, creating artwork and assets to inspire and guide the other Artists.
  • Continually look for opportunities to innovate and improve the visual quality on all projects.
  • Take an active role in the planning of project pitches and be comfortable dealing face to face with publishers and other clients to discuss working with them on their games.
  • Help to build and raise the profile of the growing art team.
  • Mentor Artists in the team providing support and nurturing to encourage their continued growth and helping to improve their skills and build their knowledge.
  • Oversee and provide detailed feedback to multiple art disciplines including 2D, 3D, Lighting, VFX, Animation and Concept Art.

Skills

  • An impeccable eye for aesthetic quality, visual excellence and a high attention to detail demonstrated through an impressive art portfolio.
  • Highly proficient in current development tools and software including Unreal, Unity, Maya and/or 3DS Max, Zbrush, Substance and Photoshop.
  • A confident art leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will have the ability to articulate visual ideas with clarity and conviction and provide clear feedback and guidance.
  • Good understanding of essential art principles; colour and lighting theory, composition and staging techniques.
  • Able to creatively supervise and drive artwork, directing the other artists and leading by example.
  • The Art Director needs to be agile, overseeing all Art teams and able to adapt to a variety of existing art styles, whilst always pushing for excellence on every game title.
  • With exceptional understanding of up to date game development technical processes, you will take a keen interest in latest technology workflows and advancements and have an interest in learning, evaluating and evangelizing appropriate usage of new software, tools and technologies.
  • You will have good leadership skills, be a collaborative team player with 3+ years of game art management experience.
  • You will have a calm, positive and professional attitude alongside excellent time-management and organisational skills.

The Game Design program at the Cleveland Institute of Art is known internationally by its faculty, alumni and visiting artists. Culminating in the BFA degree, the Game Design program offers a comprehensive curriculum that masters industry standard techniques, cutting edge technology and software to creatively translate conceptual ideas into interactive experiences. Our students work with innovative production processes including 3D modeling, animation, programming, visual design, audio, interactive storytelling, and game production, as well as theory, criticism, and context of video game culture and digital media.  This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic candidate to play an instrumental role in delivering the program’s pedagogy while leading and shaping the program’s vision for the future.

FuseFX has an opening in Los Angeles! FuseFX is looking for a Global Systems Engineer based in our Los Angeles studio to manage and coordinator Systems Engineer efforts for this location, as well as to assist teams in our other locations.

In this role the candidate will be in management of several projects that may involve tasking peers with assignments, training, and projects to complete larger initiatives. The candidate will also work towards enhancing security and monitoring compliance, planning, and participating in upgrades and expansion. The candidate will also collaborate with other departments across sites, and directly support others when necessary.

Responsibilities:

·         Strategic Planning

o    Work with CTO and Head of Technology on overall technology priorities and focus

o    Evaluate and integrate hardware, software, and workflow upgrades

o    Assist in developing design approaches and concepts on assigned projects and requests assistance from the staff when needed.

o    Integrate new technology into the facility

  • Security
    • Contribute to best practices/policies
    • Oversee implementation of internal policies

·         Engineering

o    Manage the production systems in a Windows environment, including the following: Windows Server 2012/2019, Active Directory, Terminal Services, VDI, MS SQL Server, WSUS, Virtualized Infrastructure (VMware) ESXi, High Performance Computing, and Scale out File Systems.

o    Monitor windows environment for anomalies and errors, reporting and escalation of issues within house and off the shelf monitoring tools.

o    Manage enterprise applications responsible for server builds, patch management, virtual machine management, virus scanning, etc.

o    Troubleshoot and debug environment and infrastructure problems found in the production and non-production environments.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Animators who understand game production and have a genuine interest in game development.

You will be working alongside the animation team to create believable high-quality character animations. You will be working closely under the guidance of the Lead Animator to achieve a consistent level of quality and ensure that each animation has the right energy and mood to it. 

You will be joining the team at a crucial time for the studio as we grow and develop our animation pipeline, which will offer a great career opportunity for the right candidate.  

Responsibilities

  • Create high quality character, creature and environmental animations.
  • Work with the Lead Animator and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the animations works as intended in the game.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Work with both keyframe and motion capture data.
  • Ensure that your animation works as intended in the game.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

  • Strong key frame animation skills.
  • Strong character, creature and mechanical animation skills.
  • Experience working with motion capture data.
  • Previous experience in games development, preferably with a shipped title under your belt.
  • Capable of meeting schedules and commit to delivery dates.
  • Familiar with Maya and Motion Builder.
  • Animation degree or equivalent experience.
  • Provide a demo showcasing your best animation work.

Technical Artist - Animation

Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Artist who understands animation production and has a genuine interest in spearheading the creation of the tools and pipeline for the animation teams. Someone who is keen at providing solutions and always finding a better way.

As a Technical Artist, you will be working alongside the animation team to enable them produce high-end content and providing technical guidance as well as helping to define animation workflow and pipelines. You will be working closely with the Cinematic Director and Lead Animator to ensure that the technical development for the animation pipeline scales alongside with the team’s needs.

You will be joining the studio at a pivotal time as we grow our animation teams and define our pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Tool development and technical support for the animation teams.
  • Recognize inefficiencies or pipeline issues and present solutions.
  • Develop tools & scripts for third party software like Motion Builder & Maya and develop proprietary tools.
  • Creation & maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Work closely with Lead Animator, Cinematic Director and programming teams to bridge needs and requirements.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of experience in similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of Motion Builder / Maya.
  • Strong Python / Mel programming/scripting.
  • Experience in various other scripting or programming languages is very desirable.
  • Knowledge of building human, facial, vehicles and prop rigging.
  • Knowledge of cloth simulation software such as nCloth
  • Understanding of 3D Math functions - linear algebra & vector maths.
  • Experience in game development working with animation teams.

We are looking for a Cinematic Artist who understands game production and has a genuine interest in game development.

You will be working alongside the cinematic team to create immersive high-quality cinematics. You will work under the guidance of the Cinematic Director to achieve a consistent level of quality in cinematic sequences.

You will work to combine all the cinematic ingredients and create compelling cinematics for the game. You will support the team in a variety of ways by applying multiple skills to your daily work. We are looking for a multi-disciplinary Cinematic Artist who enjoys working in multiple areas of cinematic production.

You will be joining the team at a crucial time for the studio as we grow and develop our animation pipeline, which will offer a great career opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Support the entire creative process, from initial prototyping to final delivery and polished cinematics.
  • Take storyboards and produce animatics.
  • Take animatics and create prototypes in engine.
  • Prepare scenes and setup all assets needed for motion capture shoots as well as for the animation team.
  • Scene layout and maintenance in game engine.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines inside and outside of the Cinematic team.

  • 3+ Years of experience in similar position, preferably at least 1 shipped title under your belt.
  • Strong knowledge of Motion Builder or Maya using Story or Sequencer.
